Hello I am Mr Potter, the Class Teacher in Y3P.

I’ve been a Primary School teacher for 15 wonderful years now and have worked in nearly every group but one thing for certain I’m still learning every day. I’ve worked in a few schools but particularly enjoyed working for several years in our close partner school St Patrick’s Primary in Westbury St, Thornaby. I look forward to meeting you all.

Below are a few gentle reminders regarding our class routines.

PE takes place every Wednesday, however PE sessions may sometimes change, so please ensure PE kits are brought into school every Monday or left in school and taken home at the end of a half-term.

All new homework is given out on a Wednesday and must be handed in by the following Monday. Year 3 homework consists of weekly spellings, times tables practise (the children get one table per week and we ask that they write the table out in order twice and then the inverse divisions twice) and a ‘Reading for Meaning’ sheet. Children are also given a new KIRFs sheet each half term which shows parents which extra basic maths skills they can practise with their children at home.

Please note children will be tested on their weekly spellings and tables every Wednesday morning.

Raffle Tickets!

Like Mrs Barrett, I will continue to give out raffle tickets each week to the children who are showing a great working attitude in the classroom but also for those children that read regularly at home. Please try to read a little with your child every night to help their reading skills to progress further.

Year 3 continue to enjoy a variety of practical and exciting lessons and activities. We will upload videos and pictures of our learning on a regular basis to twitter so don’t forget to check frequently for updates! Here is a selection of some of the things we’ve been up to so far…

Thank you for your continued support, Mr Potter and Mrs Wardell-Appleton.
