Vision Statement for Science
At Christ the King Primary School our vision is to give children a Science curriculum which enables them to explore and discover the world around them, confidently, so that they have a deeper understanding of the world we live in. To achieve this, we will ensure the children have exciting, practical hands on experiences that encourage curiosity and questioning.
Our aim is that these stimulating and challenging experiences help children secure and extend their scientific knowledge and vocabulary. We want them to understand how key knowledge and concepts can be used to explain what is occurring, predict how things will behave and analyse cause. This understanding will be consolidated through their appreciation of applications of science in society and economy. We believe that educational visits linked to scientific enquiry will broaden the knowledge children receive and enhance pupil’s learning, adding to what they have learned in the classroom.
Our vision is that these opportunities will ensure that our children are confident, life-long learners who will explore the world around them. We hope they will make informed life choices and aspire to be open-minded-citizens who make a valuable contribution to society.
